Sign the Declaration

Free to join. No subscription.

Sign. Join. Protect.

The Declaration, membership, support, and Alliance Partnership, answered.

One answer eliminates most of the confusion

One signup for everything. Signing is joining.

The Declaration & what it means

A public commitment to recognize, respect, and protect the food traditions, makers, markets, and knowledge systems that give places their identity. Signing is the first act of membership.

What do I commit to when I sign?

Five principles: recognize, respect, protect, document, and connect culinary heritage. The full Declaration text is available after signing.

Is my name displayed publicly?

Only if you choose. During signup you can opt in to being listed publicly as a signatory. You can change this at any time from your account.

Membership

No. Signing the Declaration is free and makes you a free member. No credit card required.

What is Supporting Membership?

An optional $24/year contribution that funds platform development, storytelling, outreach, and heritage work. Never required to participate in the movement.

What does a Supporting Member get?

Supporter updates, a digital badge, and early access to opportunities as they develop. Core movement access is the same for all members, free and supporting alike.

Can I cancel Supporting Membership?

Yes, at any time. You remain a free member after cancellation.

Alliance Partners

An organization, typically an NGO or association, that stewards the Taste of Place movement in a specific country, region, or sector. Alliance Partnership is the institutional pathway, not membership.

Can a business become an Alliance Partner?

Alliance Partnership is for NGOs, associations, and institutions, not individual businesses. Individuals join by signing the Declaration.

Is there one Alliance Partner per country?

In most cases, yes. The National Alliance Partnership is an exclusive stewardship role — one per country, maximum, to ensure credibility and focus. Standard partners may operate at regional or sector level.

WFTA

The world's leading authority on food and beverage tourism. Founded in 2001, the WFTA has developed the standards, research, and programs that help destinations, organizations, and travelers engage with food culture responsibly. Learn more →

Is Taste of Place a WFTA product?

Yes. Taste of Place is developed and led by the WFTA as its flagship global heritage initiative. The movement operates under their authority and standards.
